A respected physician in Oconto Falls, Wisconsin, is facing multiple felony charges related to child sexual abuse after police uncovered graphic video evidence. According to the criminal complaint, Dr. Isaias Cupino, 65, was arrested on Tuesday night following a tip that led authorities to discover child sexual abuse material (CSAM) uploaded from a local computer.
A detective with the Oconto Police Department identified Dr. Cupino in the video and immediately initiated a search of his residence, fearing the child involved was in immediate danger.
The investigation escalated quickly when officers searched Cupino’s home and allegedly found multiple explicit videos involving Dr. Cupino and a toddler, all filmed in his residence. These discoveries led to charges of:
First-degree child sexual assault
Sexual exploitation of a child
Possession of child pornography
If convicted on all charges, Cupino could face up to 68 years in prison.
As of now, no statement from Cupino is included in the criminal complaint, and he is scheduled to appear in court on Friday afternoon.
Prevea Health, where Cupino was employed, released a public statement expressing concern over the allegations:
“We are aware of the serious allegations involving an employee. While we cannot comment on the specifics of an active legal matter, please know we take matters like this very seriously. The safety and well-being of our patients and community are our highest priority.”
The health system confirmed that Dr. Cupino is no longer working while the investigation continues and emphasized that they are monitoring the situation and taking appropriate steps.
This case has sent shockwaves through the Oconto County community. As a trusted medical professional, Cupino had access to vulnerable patients, which raises serious questions about institutional safeguards, mandatory reporting procedures, and possible additional victims.
The exploitation and abuse of minors, especially when committed by someone in a position of authority, requires a swift legal response and comprehensive support for those affected.
