Authorities in Kenosha, Wisconsin, have arrested a man and woman in a harrowing case of long-term child sexual abuse and exploitation. The couple, Dylan Gardinier, 30, and Alyssa Schraeder, 30, now face serious felony charges after law enforcement uncovered disturbing photo and video evidence allegedly documenting sexual acts involving a child.
According to court documents, Gardinier is charged with:
Second-degree sexual assault of a child
Child exploitation
Child abuse
His bond has been set at $200,000 cash. Schraeder faces several counts of:
Possession of child pornography
Second-degree sexual assault of a child
Child sexual exploitation
Both individuals are expected to appear in court on September 3, 2025.
The case has stunned the local community, including those close to the child victim. Jessica Ramirez, a relative, shared her devastation, stating:
“It’s really hard for me to keep my composure because I’ve known that little girl since she was born.”
Court filings state that investigators recovered graphic media showing both Gardinier and Schraeder engaging in sexual acts with the child. These images and videos were key evidence leading to the arrests.
If convicted on the most serious charges, both Gardinier and Schraeder face decades behind bars. Prosecutors are treating the case as one of extreme severity given the documented exploitation and the reported duration of the abuse.
The trauma inflicted on the victim will likely have lifelong effects, making justice and long-term support vital to her recovery.
Cases like this illustrate how deeply abuse can be hidden behind closed doors and how predators often use manipulation or intimidation to silence victims. Survivors may carry this trauma for years before finding the courage or support to come forward.
